*UM Last Minute Check List At-A Glance*

As summer comes to a close, and the excitement of finally arriving in Ann Arbor approaches be sure to make a last minute checklist of things that need to be done before your arrival. Here are a few ideas:

1) Before you can move into any leased/rented property, all utilities must be transferred into your name. Failure to do so could result in extra fees/fines from your landlord, unless they have stated otherwise.

2) How far are you from your permanent address? If traveling back and forth to your hometown is impossible, consider changing your address, it will make maintaining bills easier.

3) Staying off-campus can be a breath of fresh air, but parking around campus can make the promptest late. Consider the commuter lot, shuttles arrive every 15 minutes to and from campus and has stops all around campus beginning at the Union.

4) Register to vote!! This will require an address change, but if getting back to your hometown is impossible you will have a chance to exercise your right! Your VOTE counts!!!

**Last minute insider tip: Did you know, if you found an off-campus apartment and have planned to move in, the process isn't complete until you review your rights as a tenant?! A list of these rights appears on the Housing website. Know your rights as a tenant and stay informed!** (Check out http://www.offcampus.housing.umich.edu/files/citysection.pdf.)
